Don’t expect to explore an open world as big as The Witcher 3 in the upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 as according to CD Projekt Red it is a “little bit smaller”.

Speaking to GamesRadar, producer Richard Borzymowski put the two maps into perspective saying if you look at pure surface square kilometres, then Cyberpunk might be smaller than The Witcher 3.
However, the density of the content, taking the world of The Witcher 3 and deleting the wilderness between, is where Cyberpunk 2077 fits in.

In The Witcher 3, we spend a lot of time exploring the wilderness as the game takes place across various open-world areas. In Cyberpunk 2077, the city is dense and split into six districts. The game also has the outskirts called the Badlands. All these areas are tied together without any loading screens.
So even though the map is smaller, the action and activities you will encounter in the world will be the same.
CD Projekt Red plans on releasing a full 15-minute gameplay video this week on 30 August 2019 at 20:00 SAT. Stay tuned for more. Cyberpunk 2077 is set for release on 16 April 2020.
