Everyone and their cat is excited about Cyberpunk 2077, especially since Keanu Reeves thinks Night City is breathtaking. However, one thing I am not excited about is downloading the game (and will probably get a physical copy) as it turns out the Cyberpunk 2077 install size is at least 80GB and it could be even more.

This news about the Cyberpunk 2077 install size comes directly from the game’s PlayStation Store page, which lists it as 80GB minimum. Then, on the Xbox Store, there isn’t mention of the install size for the game, but it does mention 4K for the Xbox One X. It still remains to be seen how big exactly the game will be on the Xbox One and PC, but with an 80GB minimum on the PS Store, there is no doubt the game will be at least 80GB on all platforms.
According to Reddit user PhoOhThree, the size could be a bit misleading and used as a placeholder, which means this minimum could very well increase or maybe decrease as the developer is still adding more to the game. We also reported earlier this month that Cyberpunk 2077 will likely receive Witcher-like expansions, which are massive on their own, so if I had to take a guess, Cyberpunk 2077’s GOTY Edition will probably be well over 100GB when the expansions do get released.
It will be interesting to see how the physical edition of the game will work. It is probably possible for a 2-disc option as the Cyberpunk 2077 install size is well over 50GB, or those with a physical copy will just have to download a big part of the game.
