Cyberpunk 2077 New Content Update CD Projekt Red Side Quests

Cyberpunk 2077 is Still Getting New Content in Upcoming Update

Developer CD Projekt Red might be hard at work on The Witcher 4 right now but it’s not done with Cyberpunk 2077. The studio announced that it had been “cooking in secret” – the game will receive new content later this month in the form of new side quests which will arrive via an update on all platforms (including Nintendo Switch 2). A sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Project Orion, is also in the pre-production stages of development.

To celebrate the release of Cyberpunk 2077 on Nintendo Switch 2 yesterday, CD Projekt Red announced that it was adding new content to the game via an update in late June with new side quests for both the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion. Update 2.3 will launch on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC and Nintendo Switch 2. This marks the third surprise update for the game since CD Projekt Red said it was done with updates, harnessing their inner Larian Studios energy.

CD Projekt Red also confirmed that it will be attending Anime Expo next month, leading many to believe that another Cyberpunk anime is on the way after 2022’s acclaimed Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. It seems that fans aren’t being short-changed on new content set in the game’s universe.

On the topic of the sequel, tabletop RPG creator Mike Pondsmith confirmed that the follow-up will feature a second location in addition to Night City. “I spent a lot of time talking to one of the environment guys, and he was explaining how the new place… because there’s another city that we visit, and I’m not telling you anymore than that, but there’s another city that we visit. Night City is still there,” said Pondsmith.

He also revealed that he won’t be as involved in the sequel as he was in the first game, though he’s still overseeing the sequel’s scripts.
