CD Projekt Red has released the massive patch 2.2 for its open-world RPG, Cyberpunk 2077. Fans initially thought that the update would only bring minor fixes and improvements but it seems like CDPR has surprised everyone with just how much new content came with the update, including hundreds of new character creation and customisation features, new world events around Night City, the ability to change the colour and style of your vehicle to dupe the cops, new cars and much more.
Update 2.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 was actually developed by Virtuos Studios, the same studio co-developing the upcoming Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. Twitter/X account Synth Potato provides a detailed breakdown of all the new features added to the game with the update, though we’ll summarise most of the important ones.
First and foremost, Johnny Silverhand (played by Keanu Reeves) can now randomly spawn in the passenger seat of your car. You can have conversations with him and he’ll even comment on your driving skills.
Cyberpunk 2.2 is the “Express Yourself” update and it’s another solid update enriching the experience as a whole.

As for customisation, CD Projekt Red says there are over 122 new character creation options available including new tattoos, faceplates, hair styles, eyes and eye colours and much more. If you’re interested in customising your car, Cyberpunk 2077 now features pretty robust car customisation with ability to customise the colours of cars, change the car’s livery and, taking notes from the Grand Theft Auto series, you can change the colour of your car mid-chase to lose the cops. Ten new cars have also been added to the game to purchase.
Photo Mode has been given some modest improvements as well, including a new Drone Camera, options to turn off collisions, new aspect ratios, new NPCs to spawn, lighting options and a gallery. You can now even hang your photo mode screenshots in your apartment.
There’s a lot more content added in the update that players are still discovering, so you’ll simply have to jump into Cyberpunk 2077 and see for yourself. In case you missed it, check out all the features previously added in patch 2.1 of the game.
