CD Projekt Red will share more information on the upcoming Phantom Liberty expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 this June. The additional content will expand the story of the game and alongside Keanu Reeves, it will star another A-list celebrity in Idris Elba.
CD Projekt Red didn’t specify where it will be sharing news on Phantom Liberty this June since many events are set to take place in that month such as Xbox Games Showcase and Summer Game Fest (but tragically not E3). Either show is a possibility though CD Projekt Red could also choose to host its own dedicated presentation on the expansion and give players a proper deep dive into the expansion with new gameplay and details.

“In June we’ll start to share more information on the Phantom Liberty expansion. Stay tuned!” CDPR stated in a recent tweet. The company also confirmed that Phantom Liberty will have the largest budget for an expansion in the studio’s history and we hope that doesn’t just entail the inclusion of Elba. Reeves will also reprise his role as Johnny Silverhand. CDPR was initially worried that the star was simply too likeable to play the role. We can’t blame them.
The official description of Cyberpunk 2077‘s Phantom Liberty expansion reads:
“Phantom Liberty is a spy-thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. Become V, a cyberpunk for hire, and take on an impossible mission of espionage and survival. Use new skills, equip new weapons and tech, and plunge deep into a web of shattered loyalties and political power plays.”
Phantom Liberty currently doesn’t have a release date but we can hopefully expect one to arrive in June. The expansion will also only release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC, meaning PS4 and Xbox One players will miss out.
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
