Cyberpunk 2077 apparantly runs pretty well on base PS4 and Xbox One according to CD Projekt Red. CEO and president Adam Kiciński said that players who are picking the game up on the hardware should not be worried about the performance as the game “runs great on all platforms.”

According to Kiciński, he says that the performance of Cyberpunk 2077 on the base PS4 and Xbox One hardware is impressive given how big the game’s world is. However, by the sound of things, base PS4 and Xbox One owners should be prepared for performance that runs a lot lower on the consoles. This is a given fact due to the age of the hardware. Kiciński said;
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#F9FF33″ class=”” size=””]“Yesterday we released the gameplay both on PS4 [Pro] and PS5. So, you can see the difference. And on both — I mean, PS5 is great. PS4 is still very good. I mean, we had those extra three weeks and we achieved a lot by — within this final stretch. So, we believe that the game is performing great on every platform. Of course, accordingly to platform capabilities, but every platform should be great.”[/perfectpullquote]
When asked about the Cyberpunk 2077 performance on the base PS4 and Xbox One, he said;
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#F9FF33″ class=”” size=””]“Of course, a bit lower than on pros, but surprisingly good, I would say for such a huge world. So, bit lower, but very good. That’s the answer.”[/perfectpullquote]
I am calling it now, base PS4 and Xbox One consoles are going to have a rough time running Cyberpunk 2077 and the experience is going to be questionable. It sounds as if Kiciński is dodging the topic here and his responses are never clear. However, we will know the truth soon as the game is set to release on 10 December 2020 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Series X and PC.
