We are all “patiently” awaiting a release date announcement for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. It is, without a doubt, one of the most ambitious games ever and the hype surrounding Cyberpunk 2077 is insane. Hopefully, the Polish developer will reveal a date or release window at E3 2019, as Cyberpunk 2077 will be there. E3 is still a few months away, but some more information has been revealed about Cyberpunk 2077 quests.
In a recent Podcast (in German) it was presumably hinted at that Cyberpunk 2077 quests will be 3 to 5 times more complex than those found in The Witcher 3. However, that isn’t exactly right as it seems something was lost in translation. However, Cyberpunk 2077 quests will have, for example, 3 to 5 different options for players to choose in how they tackle an objective inside a quest or an entire quest.
Quest Designer on Cyberpunk 2077, Philipp, took to Reddit to clear up some confusion and explain a bit more about Cyberpunk 2077 quests, stating that:
Hey, Quest Designer Philipp here (not Lead, but I’ll take that as a compliment. As a bit of context, since this was taken from a German podcast, and some things might get lost in translation: What I was saying was that as a quest designer, I now have to consider the different new opportunities we offer (like using Netrunning Skills, etc.) and how using those often gives you more (as an example, 3 to 5 in some cases) ways how to solve a quest or challenges within a quest. This naturally makes quest designs more complex in some areas, but it’s honestly great fun to do. I hope this cleared this statement up a little.
This honestly does sound fantastic and it is always great when an open-world game doesn’t just throw “kill x amount of enemies” at you over and over, but actually provide unique quests and ways to complete them. If The Witcher 3 is any indication of the quality of Cyberpunk 2077 quests, we are definitely in for a treat.
What do you think about Cyberpunk 2077 quests giving players a variety of options on how they want to proceed and how hyped are you for the game right now? Let us know in the comment section below and check out the latest Cyberpunk 2077 video if you haven’t already.
