The Unreal Engine 5 is one of the most powerful gaming engines around and best of all, anyone can download it and fiddle with its tools. Epic Games has built Unreal Engine 5 with the power to last a full generation and soon games will look more detailed than ever before. Cyberpunk 2077 wasn’t the big hit everyone hoped it to be. This was mainly due to its bugs and unpolished visuals. However, CDPR did fix some of these issues. With that being said, after seeing this fan-made Unreal Engine 5 demo, I say they still have some ways to go.
Indie developer and YouTuber Enfant Terrible worked on porting the Cyberpunk 2077 style to Unreal Engine 5 and it is unbelievable. He built an entire demo using assets from the game as well as some taken from the Epic marketplace. The result is an awesome-looking trailer that showcases what we should have got from CDPR in the first place.

Enfant Terrible clearly put a lot of love and attention into this demo. From the moment it starts, we can see all the advanced tech at work. There is raytracing in every scene as the billboards reflect across every object. Even the motorcycle paint refracts the world around it with its metallic sheen.
The demo also has its fair share of character models and they are insanely detailed. From the hair, skin, eye, lips and every nut and bolt attached to each character’s head. Even the rats running across the building corridor look like they contain a few thousand polygons and their shadows are blended into the world.

The next Cyberpunk 2077 is yet to be announced but what if CD Projekt RED decided to develop a sequel with Unreal Engine 5? Take a look at the most UNREAL footage from Unreal Engine 5 reels and imagine how a new CYBERPUNK 2 might look like in the future. Environment megapacks from the Epic Marketplace, MetaHumans Creator from Epic, VFX and Zbrush were also used in this video.
