Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X Controller CD Projekt Red

Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X Console Leaked and it is Hideous

Microsoft seems to be teaming up with CD Projekt Red to produce a Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X console for the game’s launch later this year. The company started teasing an announcement set for 20 April 2020 with a series of new social media profile images and videos. Microsoft even went as far as to tweak its official Xbox home page with a glitch effect telling people to come back in a few days to see their reveal.

However, the cat is already out of the bag as Amazon uploaded the console and controller before the announcement was set to take place. In short, the controller is okay but the console is hideous and something that should have never been made in the first place. The whole thing seems like a major waste of marketing resources and to hype an Xbox One X console up this much is a questionable move by Microsoft.

Perhaps the marketing move was to try and replicate the success CD Projekt Red had with the Limited Edition Cyberpunk 2077 NVIDIA RTX cards. The card reveal was met with millions of fans losing their minds over the awesome-looking GPUs. However, this console announcement has not even happened yet and it already feels pretty lacklustre.

The Limited Edition Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One X console features a blue and yellow colour scheme that sort of looks like a PC server if you had zero creativity in designing your own one. It has a handful of painted holes and vents which are meant to give it a life-like look and feel. It almost looks like scrap metal welded together. With the world of Cyberpunk 2077 being so immersive, surely there were other design options Microsoft could have gone with?

The Cyberpunk 2077 Controller, on the other hand, is a lot better. One side of it is dark while the other looks like there’s been a sheet of steel placed over it. Almost as if the controller is a robot that escaped a factory half-way through being manufactured. The button colours, analogue shade and even the half-tone design look superb. It is a complete contrast when compared to “that” console.

The coolest thing to come out of this whole situation is the Xbox.com home page changing when you load up the site. Check it out here.
