Days Gone Sequel PS5 New Game Plus mode PlayStation PC

Days Gone and More PlayStation Games Coming to PC

PlayStation will release more console exclusives on PC this year and beyond according to Sony. The first of which is Days Gone which will arrive this spring (autumn here in SA). Sony says that people enjoyed Horizon Zero Dawn on PC which originally launched back in August of 2020.

The news comes from an interview with PlayStation boss Jim Ryan who says there had been no massive adverse reaction to the launch of Horizon Zero Dawn on PC. He claims that people like it and they bought it.

“People liked it and they bought it. We also looked at it through the lens of what the PlayStation community thought about it. There was no massive adverse reaction to it. So we will continue to take mission steps in this direction.”

Ryan states that the wider PC audience means that PlayStation games can be enjoyed by more people. However, the situation is more about finances and profit than anything else. Ryan says that the cost of making games has gone up with each cycle and the need to make money from the PC audience is vital at this point. Porting PlayStation games to PC has also become a lot easier. He says it is a fairly straightforward decision.

“The cost of making games goes up with each cycle, as the calibre of the IP has improved. Also, our ease of making it available to non-console owners has grown. So it’s a fairly straightforward decision for us to make.”

The interview claims that a “whole slate” of PlayStation games will arrive on PC in the coming months. However, there is the only mention of Days Gone at this time. PC owners could be in for some magical experiences ahead as Sony could (or could not) release other fairly large IPs including Ghost of Tsushima, The Last of Us and more.
