Days Gone is not a bad game at all. We loved it at Glitched and gave it an 8.6/10. However, a lot of other media did not enjoy it as much as we did with some scores coming in from as low as 3.5/10 and 6.5/10. With all the bad press, the Days Gone sales are exceeding expectations landing in the top spot in the UK.
Even with the low score, it is great to see the game doing well and even beating its next-best purchase in the top charts. According to Gfk, the launch week of physical sales was 27% slower last week compared to last year due to the release of God of War boosting the sales in 2018.

However, Days Gone has beaten Mortal Kombat 11 to the top spot of retail sales in the UK. Mortal Kombat 11 has performed 43.6% lower than its predecessor, Mortal Kombat X in 2015 but better than 2017’s Injustice 2. Most important of all is that Days Gone has hit number 1 in the UK taking over Mortal Kombat 11.
The PS4 version of Mortal Kombat 11 contributed to 71% of all sales last week. World War Z is not doing too well on the charts as it debuted in first place last week and has fallen to number 10 over this past week.
Keep in mind that these numbers exclude all digital sales on games. Mortal Kombat 11 could be doing very well through the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace. The UK top 10 is now as follows.
- Days Gone
- Mortal Kombat 11
- FIFA 19
- Red Dead Redemption 2
- Tom Clancy’s The Division 2
- Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
- Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
- Forza Horizon 4
- New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe
- World War Z
