Dead by Daylight is Getting Cross-Progression on All Platforms

Dead by Daylight, the asymmetric multiplayer survival horror game from Behaviour Interactive, is finally getting cross-progression on all platforms soon. The update will be available on 22 July 2024, which will allow users to transfer their progress between platforms. Unfortunately, DLC and premium currency tied to a Nintendo Switch account will not be carried over.

Behaviour Interactive released a chart showing the cross-progression details coming to Dead by Daylight next week. Users across PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Epic Games Store and Steam) will have access to shared progression, shared inventory, shared paid currency and shared DLC. Under the Nintendo Switch section, though, it’s noted that players won’t be able to share their premium currency and DLC for some reason.

The chart is pretty straight-forward, showing that progress can be easily carried over on most available platforms. For a live service game like Dead by Daylight, this is pretty important as it will no longer lock your progression to one specific platform. Have a look at the chart below:

The good news for Nintendo Switch players is that you’ll still be able to carry over your inventory and progression to other systems, just without access to any previously bought currency or DLC items. Like most cross-progression features, this will require you to have an active Behaviour Interactive account.

In related news, Supermassive Games, the developer behind Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology, is working on a Dead by Daylight spin-off titled The Casting of Frank Stone. It’s described as a narrative-driven horror experience that focuses on a group of friends who unravel a disturbing mystery at a steel mill. It will seemingly play to strengths of Supermassive Games with its focus on narrative-driven horror. The game is set to launch next year for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
