Sources claim that Dead Island 2 is going to be revealed very soon. In fact, some sources say that the zombie game, which has been missing in action for eight years, might be re-revealed this June during one of the many gaming showcase events taking place.
According to insider Colin Moriarty, Dead Island 2 is quite far into development already. So much so that the game is on track to release in September or October this year.
This news is a stark contrast to what we have been dealing with when it comes to the game. Deep Silver has constantly shared the same “it is still in development” since it took over the game’s publishing back in 2014. However, we also heard that the game was suffering from some internal issues with the development team.
Colin Moriarty says that the game’s re-reveal should take place in the coming months if nothing goes wrong. Deep Silver is also gearing up to release the game in September or October this year.
A Dead Island 2 release date would come eight years after the game was originally announced and planned to release in December 2013. Sony originally showcased the reveal trailer during its PS4 showcase event in 2013 and the game was even available to pre-order on the PlayStation Store. However, Dead Island 2 simply never made it to release and has since been in development hell.
