Dead Space is the story of Isaac Clarke, an engineer tasked with fixing a mega-mining ship in outer space called the USG Ishimura. However, the ship is teeming with infected personnel who have become hellish nightmare creatures. Clarke begins to unravel the mystery behind what is happening, starting an epic trilogy of sci-fi horror.
Along with the new sound design and art, the Dead Space remake will feature a new “flesh-carving system” which will not only be cosmetic but practical as well.
“The body destruction technology that we’re developing, that is allowing us to really remove the flesh off of the bones of the enemy, and to give you a good sense not only of gore … but also of how much damage am I doing to the opponent. Is my weapon actually useful against this one? How close is it to dying? That’s something that to me is really interesting.”
