Jennifer Garner is reportedly set to reprise her comic book role as Elektra in the anticipated upcoming Marvel movie, Deadpool 3. Garner previously played the role in the 2003 Marvel movie, Daredevil with Ben Affleck before receiving her own standalone movie in 2005. Almost 20 years later and it looks like Garner is set to return as the character alongside the merc with a mouth in the MCU.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Garner has reportedly joined the cast of Deadpool 3 where she will reprise her role as Elektra Natchios. Her standalone movie bombed at the box office and received very bad reviews across the board, though she may have another chance at redemption by starring alongside Ryan Reynolds in the third Deadpool movie.

Deadpool 3 will see the return of Reynolds as the titular character as well as Hugh Jackman, who will reprise his role as Marvel’s popular superhero, Wolverine. Other cast members include Morena Baccarin as Vanessa, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Stefan Kapicic as Colossus and Karan Soni as Dopinder, among others.
Deadpool 3 will be directed by Shawn Levy who previously collaborated with Ryan Reynolds on movies like The Adam Project and Free Guy. The official story synopsis for the movie reads:
“A weary Wolverine finds himself recovering from his injuries when he comes across a loudmouth Deadpool who has time travelled forward to heal his greatest pal in the hopes to befriend the wild beast and to team up to take down a foe they both have in common.”
As of writing, we still know very little about Deadpool 3 and where it will fit into the MCU at large. However, we won’t have to wait very long for more news as the movie arrives in cinemas on 3 May 2024. Read more about which MCU movies were recently delayed right here.
