Deadpool 3 Resumes Filming – Taylor Swift Cameo Rumours Addressed

After suffering a delay in production due to the SAG-AFTRA actors strike, Deadpool 3 has now resumed filming with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman back on set. Additionally, Reynolds was asked if singer Taylor Swift will have some sort of cameo following a rumour that the pop star would make a brief appearance in the upcoming MCU movie.

In an interview with Vancouver Sun, Ryan Reynolds, who plays the merc with a mouth, gave a short answer to the rumours about Taylor Swift potentially making an appearance in Deadpool 3. “Yeah, I’ve heard that one… Every single one of these secrets & spoilers will be revealed on July 26,” said Reynolds, urging fans to simply wait for the movie to arrive in cinemas next year. Due to the Hollywood strikes, Disney and Marvel Studios reshuffled its schedule and delayed several projects, leaving Deadpool 3 as the only MCU movie set to release in 2024.

The good news is that Deadpool 3 is back in production after filming was put on hold earlier this year. However, it will only get delayed by a few months, moving from its initial 3 May date to 26 July 2024.

The official plot synopsis for Deadpool 3 reads:

“A weary Wolverine finds himself recovering from his injuries when he comes across a loudmouth Deadpool who has time travelled forward to heal his greatest pal in the hopes to befriend the wild beast and to team up to take down a foe they both have in common.”

In other news, The Marvels launched earlier this month to the worst MCU opening weekend of all time. As of writing, it has only grossed $165 million against its reported budget of $275 million, meaning it’s likely to be a financial failure once it ends its current run in cinemas.

Deadpool 3 arrives in cinemas on 26 July 2024.
