A set photo from Deadpool 3 has surfaced online revealing Ryan Reynolds back in the familiar red and black suit alongside Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. However, Jackman is now donning the comic book hero’s classic yellow and blue costume – the first time we’ve ever seen it in any live-action movie featuring the character.
The set photo was posted by the official social media accounts for Deadpool 3 showing Reynolds and Jackman on set walking side by side on a sandy road. Reynolds typically looks great in his Deadpool costume, though the internet seems to be buzzing over Jackman’s faithful, vibrant Wolverine costume that’s a nice throwback to the comic books’ first iterations of the superhero. Thankfully, it doesn’t look nearly as goofy as we imagined in live-action.

Unfortunately, that’s all we have to go on until Deadpool 3 releases next year or drops a few more promo images and trailers before the time. The plot is still being kept tightly under wraps, though we know it will involve time travel and Deadpool being a good pal to Wolverine. As the current story description states:
“A weary Wolverine finds himself recovering from his injuries when he comes across a loudmouth Deadpool who has time travelled forward to heal his greatest pal in the hopes to befriend the wild beast and to team up to take down a foe they both have in common.”
In related news, a new report claims that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra in Deadpool 3. Garner first appeared as the character in 2003’s Daredevil alongside Ben Affleck before being given her own solo movie. Both movies weren’t well-received at the time but at least Garner will get a second (or third) shot at redemption.
Deadpool 3 releases in cinemas on 3 May 2024.
