The kickoff event for Summer Game Fest is scheduled to take place this Friday, 6 June, officially beginning a string of summer gaming showcases and reveals. Throughout the weekend, viewers will be able to tune into some livestreams and showcases including the anticipated Xbox Games Showcase. However, Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions are also planning a dedicated live ‘game premiere’ for Death Stranding 2: On The Beach.
The Death Stranding 2: On The Beach showcase will take place at the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday, 8 June at 7PM PDT (or 4AM SAST on Monday, 9 June). The showcase will be hosted by Geoff Keighley with game director Hideo Kojima in attendance, designed “to celebrate the game’s upcoming launch with a panel discussion with special guests and an exclusive live demonstration.”

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is the long-awaited sequel to 2019’s Death Stranding from Kojima Productions and stars Norman Reedus, Lea Seydoux, Elle Fanning, Troy Baker and George Miller. It’s scheduled to release on 26 June 2025 exclusively for PS5.
The game’s official description reads:
“Embark on an inspiring mission of human connection beyond the UCA. Sam—with companions by his side—sets out on a new journey to save humanity from extinction. Join them as they traverse a world beset by otherworldly enemies, obstacles and a haunting question: should we have connected? Step by step, legendary game creator Hideo Kojima changes the world once again.”
The kickoff event for Summer Game Fest takes place on 6 June at 5 – 7PM ET / 10PM – Midnight GMT / Midnight – 2AM CAT.
