Death Stranding 2 rumours are heating up again for a multitude of reasons. Recently, Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions teased a new game starring actress Elle Fanning, with many reports suggesting that it’s the sequel. However, Kojima has now been visited by a couple of Sony executives adding more fuel to the fire.
Kojima recently posted photos on his social media revealing that Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Eric Lempel and Craig Malanka had visited the studio recently. While Kojima is no stranger to having plenty of celebrities visit his company, including the likes of Keanu Reeves, this one is particularly interesting as it could be related to discussions about a potential Death Stranding 2. The IP currently remains a PlayStation console exclusive.

Back in May, actor Norman Reedus, who plays the game’s protagonist Sam Porter Bridges, accidentally revealed that work on Death Stranding 2 had begun. Kojima responded in a joking manner, but the cat was already out of the bag at that point. Recent images of Elle Fanning’s involvement in a secretive prooject have also pointed to it being the sequel, though we’ll likely have confirmation in the near future.
As for where Death Stranding 2 could be revealed, there are a few options. The most obvious upcoming event would be Geoff Keighley’s The Game Awards which takes place in December. Keighley and Kojima’s friendship is well-known on the internet and the creator confirmed last year that he’d be in attendance at the awards ceremony this year – perhaps to show off a new game?
On the other hand, PlayStation could host another big showcase before the end of the year. Fans initially expected Sony to host one last month, but there’s been no word from the company yet regarding another big event like the previous years. We’ll just have to wait and see how this develops.
