Earlier this month, we learned quite a lot about Death Stranding multiplayer, from that players can transform the world, leave footsteps, items and a whole lot more. However, the upcoming PS4 exclusive from Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions won’t have a traditional, dedicated multiplayer mode. With that in mind, this leaves one big unanswered question: Will Death Stranding multiplayer require a PlayStation Plus subscription?

The short answer is no, not according to an official packaging shot of the Limited Edition PS4 Pro on the GAME UK pre-order page. It makes sense for Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions to allow everyone to have access to the multiplayer components as the whole game revolves around connecting with others and rebuilding society.
From everything we’ve seen so far, this interconnectedness is the whole theme of the game and other players will affect your experience in important ways, even though Hideo Kojima believes there won’t be much trolling.
In case it is hard to read the section at the bottom left of the packaging, it plainly states that:

Death Stranding from Hideo Kojima and Kojima Productions is set to release on 8 November 2019 on PS4 and it won’t require a PlayStation Plus subscription according to the official packaging shot.
