To think that on 14 September, players will finally get their hands on Deathloop. Well, PS5 and PC players at least. Bethesda has announced that the time loop FPS game has completed development and is ready for its release next month.
Deathloop has had a rough development cycle up to this point. The game was announced at E3 2019 and was originally set to release in December 2020. However, the covid-19 pandemic hit and Arkane delayed the game to May 2021. Just before its release, another massive delay hit Deathloop and it was pushed to September. Thankfully, we won’t suffer any more delays.

If you haven’t been following Deathloop, the game takes place on a lawless island called Blackreef. The main objective of the game is to replay portions of the island over and over again in order to approach your target in a different way each time. Players take on the role of Colt, an assassin stuck in a time loop.

Colt wakes up on the same beach each day and is tasked to track down a target somewhere on the island. Keep in mind that Blackreef is a bustling place with a wide range of cults, maniacs and other unique people all residing on the island. In order to not wake up on the beach, Colt needs to infiltrate the various biomes and use cool weapons and supernatural abilities to take down all the targets.
There is a catch. Colt only has until midnight to get this done and he is currently also being hunted by another assassin called Juliana. She needs to kill Colt in order to keep the loop safe. Juliana is either played by an AI bot or another player. Depending on your preference.
