Deathloop Arkane Shooter 2021 Bethesda How to Access Deathloop DLC

Deathloop is Seemingly Coming to Xbox Game Pass Soon

Due to an exclusivity deal with Sony, Arkane Studios’ critically acclaimed time-bending action game Deathloop enjoyed being a PS5 console exclusive for almost a year now (it also launched on PC). However, a new leak on the Xbox store reveals that it might finally be coming to Xbox Game Pass soon.

Twitter user Battousai_X13 recently took a screenshot revealing a premature listing for Deathloop on Xbox Game Pass. Microsoft has yet to make an official announcement about the game’s arrival on its subscription service, but we can possibly expect it to happen soon as the one-year timed exclusivity deal for PlayStation has run out effective today.

Microsoft acquired Bethesda and Zenimax Media last year, including a long list of developers currently under Bethesda. This includes Doom studio id Software, The Evil Within studio Tango Gameworks and Arkane Studios, best known for developing the Dishonored series and 2017’s Prey.

Before Xbox’s acquisition was finalised, PlayStation signed a deal with Bethesda to release both Ghostwire: Tokyo and Deathloop on PS5 as timed console exclusives. Xbox honoured the agreement and the games remained as PS5 titles despite Microsoft’s acquisition of the studios at the time. Ghostwire: Tokyo‘s PS5 exclusivity will likely run out in March next year, but one year has passed since Deathloop launched and it looks like it’s finally going to Xbox Series X/S.

Deathloop launched last September to glowing reviews, with many critics praising its inventive premise, writing and time-warping gameplay loop. Arkane is currently working on its next AAA project, the vampire-slaying open-world action game Redfall.

If this leak is true, then we can expect Xbox to officially make the announcement very soon, either through a blog post or at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show where Microsoft has a presence.

Deathloop is currently available for PS5 and PC. Expect it to hit Game Pass for Xbox Series X/S soon.
