If you are like me and didn’t own a PS3 back in the day, then you couldn’t experience the game that started the whole Soulsborne game series, Demon Souls. From Software’s extremely difficult PS3 exclusive is probably the game I would like to see remastered the most and released all the way back in February 2009. From Software is on fire with Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and their popularity is bigger than ever, now would be the perfect time for Demon Souls Remastered. That’s where a rumour comes into play, suggesting that developer Bluepoint might be working on a remaster of Demon Souls for the PS4.

There is a rumour floating around the internet that Bluepoint, who also did the Shadow of the Colossus remaster, is working on a Demon Souls remaster. Please remember to take the information with a large helping of salt as there is no official confirmation about what Bluepoint’s next project is. However, the developer was hiring a character artist to create weapons and armour for an upcoming project in October 2018.
Their next project, which some think is non-other than Demon Souls Remastered, is much bigger than what they did with Shadow of the Colossus, as the developer explained that:
For Shadow of the Colossus we don’t call it a remaster, we coin it a remake due to the complexity of the project. And moving forward to our next project, we call it a re-envisioning given that it goes well beyond what we thought was possible on Shadow of the Colossus.
Last year we saw the release of Dark Souls Remastered, which means there is more hope for another From Software remaster. However, as mentioned earlier, take rumours like this one with a large helping of salt until such time as Demon Souls Remastered is officially announced.
