In addition, Bungie also revealed its plans to remove and add content to the game to keep it running at its optimal performance in the years to come. This Destiny Content Vault will see Bungie add and remove activities and locations to the game. This also includes bringing old original Destiny 1 raids and locations to the current game. DCV includes all content from Destiny 1 and acts as a storage place for the developers to store content in the current game. In short, you can expect Bungie to add any activity and location from the past six years of the series.
Bungie did not reveal much about the expansions coming in 2021 and 2020. However, Beyond Light is where everything is said to kick off from including the DCV feature. Destiny 2: Beyond Light is set to launch on 22 September 2020. Mars, Io, Titan, Mercury and the Leviathan will all leave Destiny 2 and be added to the vault at launch. New activities and locations will arrive. This includes the following;
- Europa (new)
- Cosmodrome (unvaulted) with new story missions
- Moon
- Tangled Shore
- Dreaming City
- European Dead Zone
- Nessus
Along with the new expansion will come the usual Raid, Strikes and story missions. Bungie is adding a whole new element to the game called Stasis. This power will live alongside the others such as Solar, Arc and Void. In addition, players will be able to equip Stasis weapons and use Stasis abilities.
Little is known about the September expansion at the moment. It seems to be the start of the hunt for those darn pyramid ships. We have only been waiting for them for over six years now. Bungie did not share any further details about the 2021 and 2022 expansions.
