Destiny 2 will be coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X but that is all we know for now. Developer Bungie announced the news on Twitter saying they will reveal more details in the future. Destiny 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series X is a no-brainer at this stage. The game’s current cross-save design lets players jump across platforms already.

We don’t know whether or not Bungie will be releasing next-gen versions of the game which includes increased performance on the next-gen consoles. However, both console’s backwards compatibility would allow players to play Destiny 2 on PS5 and Xbox Series X anyway. So what we understand is that Bungie may release a beefed-up version of Destiny 2 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. This version may feature higher resolutions and best of all, frame rate.

Destiny 2 is a sad game to play on current consoles at the moment. In addition to the lack of good content, the UI is sluggish and load times are horrendous. If there was ever a game that needed next-gen treatment fast, it is this shooter. We are sure the SSD performance will allow players to open their menus without making coffee and returning back before it has loaded.
Bungie will share more on the next-gen version of the game at a later date. However, for now, we have a load of questions on how it is going to work with cross-save, cross-play and more.
