Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted

Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted Takes us Back to The Leviathan

Destiny 2’s latest season of content is about to launch. Later today, the game will go offline for maintenance and soon after, players will be able to jump into a whole new world of content. Bungie has officially detailed what we can expect in the new Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted and the big sell here is returning back to Calus and his Leviathan ship.

Destiny 2’s 17th season will take players back to The Leviathan as they get to explore the massive planet-devouring ship that has marked the location of some crucial moments in the Destiny 2 story in the past. However, apart from the new location, Season of the Haunted is also bringing some major new features to Destiny 2.

This season, players can look forward to an entire Solar sublass rework that aligns the class with the Void sublass which got a rework earlier this year. There’s also a new dungeon arriving in Destiny 2 and of course, all-new loot.

Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted

The new dungeon is sadly not part of the Season 17 content so you’ll need to purchase it separately. It is expected to launch on 27 May and requires at least 1550 power to complete. Bungie says the dungeon comes with its own set of loot including an exotic weapon, four new legendary weapons, exotic accessories and more.

Outside of the dungeon, Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted will have its own content and loot too. It is mostly all based on the Leviathan. If you don’t remember, the Leviathan was the centre point for the original Destiny 2 launch content. Even the first Raid took place on the ship where players tried to take down Calus. However, at the start of Beyond Light, Calus and his ship fled the solar system. It has now returned and has been found hovering over the Moon.

Because it is over the Moon, the Leviathan has now been haunted by some of the Moon’s Nightmares and this is the content for the season. The new season includes two new activities. The first is called Nightmare Containment which is a free public event for all players. Sever is part of the paid seasonal content and takes place in the underbelly of Leviathan across some old Raid arenas. Players need to remove the Nightmares from Calus’ control to discover what he is up to.

Destiny 2: Season of the Haunted will come with a new track of unlockables including a new exotic. This exotic is really new. In fact, it is the Trespasser from the original game. However, players can look forward to some new weapons to collect throughout all the activities.
