There is a new single-player action-horror experience heading our way set in the Alien franchise from developer Survios, who has teamed up with 20th Century Fox to create the title. There are scarce details on the project so far other than Survios is working on it and it will be set “between Alien and Aliens“.
Survios made the announcement in a blog post on their website stating that the title will be in full collaboration with 20th Century Fox, and will feature a completely original storyline “set between the Alien and Aliens films, where a battle-hardened veteran has a vendetta against the Xenomorphs”.

The current project is simply referred to as “Aliens” and will be developed for PC, consoles and VR, with the game taking “full advantage of Survios’ expertise in creating immersive and authentic gaming experiences”. Survios has also confirmed that the game will be developed using the new Unreal Engine 5.
Survios is primarily a VR developer, creating titles such as Creed Champions: Big Rumble Boxing, The Walking Dead: Onslaught and Puzzle Bobble 3D: Vacation Odyssey. However, it seems that the “Aliens” project will not be exclusively VR and a little out of the developer’s wheelhouse.
There isn’t much else to go on at this moment other than that Survios will be sharing more information at San Diego Comic-Con on the 21st of July. This will be one of the first single-player outings in the Alien franchise since Creative Assembly’s Alien Isolation which was adored by fans and critics alike. Alien Isolation was not just a fantastic single-player experience in the Alien franchise but it truly replicated the intense survival-horror emotion of the original Alien film.
The most recent title set in the Alien universe is Aliens: Fireteam Elite which is a co-operative shooter, which recently came to Xbox Game Pass and will receive crossplay later this month.
