Diablo 4 has claimed the top spot of the best-selling PS5 game for June 2023 with Final Fantasy XVI trailing close behind in second place. The PS5 download charts give us a good idea of which games sold well digitally through PSN and to no surprise, Blizzard’s dark action-RPG reigned victorious last month. Capcom’s Street Fighter 6 managed to come in at third place.
According to Sony’s chart, Diablo 4‘s PS5 version sold considerably well through PSN in the United States and Canada as well as Europe, topping the charts in those regions. However, the game’s PS4 version only managed to secure third place in the UK behind Minecraft and FIFA 23, so it seems like PS5 was the more popular platform choice for Diablo 4 players in the region.

That said, Final Fantasy XVI came in at second place in both regions which is impressive considering that Square Enix’s game only had nine days to make the chart since it launched in late June, while Diablo 4 launched in early June and had more time to accumulate sales numbers. Taking into account both physical and digital copies sold, Final Fantasy XVI managed to sell over 3 million copies in just one week.
Meanwhile, Street Fighter 6 secured third place on the PS5 charts in the US/Canada region while placing sixth in Europe. Capcom’s latest fighting game has received some of the highest review scores of 2023 which also translated into decently strong sales, selling 1 million copies in one week.
In related news, Final Fantasy XVI producer Naoki Yoshida says that the development team is currently exploring options for DLC after seeing the game’s critical and commercial success, though it’s anyone’s guess what the additional content will cover as the base game’s story is largely complete with only a couple of loose ends.
Diablo 4 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Final Fantasy XVI is available on PS5.
