Diablo 4 Guide – How to Extract and Imbue Legendary Aspects

Diablo 4 is currently available for those that purchased either the Deluxe or Ultimate editions for early access and there’s a lot to grasp when it comes to the inner workings of the game. The priority for many players will be grinding out Legendary gear and equipment to spearhead the challenging endgame content. In case you’re a bit lost about how to extract and imbue Legendary aspects onto your gear, here’s a quick guide on the process.

Legendary gear in Diablo 4 is the highest and often strongest form of equipment you can acquire. It’s also quite rare so the reward comes from finding and collecting Legendary pieces while out exploring the world and its various dungeons. Diablo 4 allows players to extract specific aspects (or skills) from pieces of Legendary gear and imbue it onto other preferred sets to streamline your build and get the most out of it.

In order to begin extracting and imbuing Legendary aspects, you’ll first need to find an Occultist. One of them, Demyan, can be found in Kyovashad marked with an icon of a triangle and three circles around the edges. Talking to the vendor will give you a list of options to choose from. To extract an aspect, scroll down to the Extract Aspects menu. After that, go to the Legendary Item tab and select the aspect you just extracted.

Keep in mind, extracting aspects will completely destroy the gear or item it was previously tied to so make sure you don’t accidentally get rid of an important or powerful piece of gear.

To imbue an aspect, use the same menu from the vendor to find the Imprint Aspect option. Next, select an item that you want to imprint the Legendary aspect on. When you scroll down to the Codex of Power, you’ll be able to see the aspect’s buffs on your preferred item and what skills it offers. Of course, you’ll also need enough gold and Veiled Crystals in order to purchase those buffs. From what we’ve gathered, the price varies depending on the aspect and its properties.

This is a fairly simple process and one that you’ll frequently return to throughout your play time if you want to hone your builds.

Diablo 4 launches on 6 June 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
