Diablo 4 Hinted at in New Blizzard Job Listing

After the absolute train smash that was the Diablo Immortal announcement and that line that I still have nightmares about where Blizzard asked fans “Do you guys not have phones?”, Blizzard has some repairing to do. Probably the best way to calm and satisfy fans of the legendary ARPG franchise is to announce Diablo 4 and Blizzard has already stated that they have multiple Diablo projects in the works. Now, a job listing is pointing towards a Diablo project that isn’t Diablo Immortal.

Late last year, there were reports that Diablo 4 is already in full development under the codename “Fenris” and now, a recent job listing further hints at Diablo 4. Blizzard is hiring a quest designer and the position is described as:

The Diablo team is looking for a talented content designer with a combined gameplay and storytelling background to help us create play areas, quests, characters, and dialogue for an upcoming project. The ideal candidate must be able to collaborate within design, audio, localization, and engineering groups to efficiently and creatively implement quest-focused content and write compelling game narrative with a firm understanding of how story translates into gameplay.

At first glance, the job listing could also be for Diablo Immortal and nothing special at all. However, looking closely at the job listing under the required material section, this golden little line makes it very clear that it isn’t: “Your experience with PC and console role-playing games.”

Since Diablo Immortal is a mobile title, while the job listing requires experience with PC and Console RPGs, this is definitely something else. Further, it is, in my opinion, way too late for another Diablo 3 expansion, so the logical game this job listing is likely for is Diablo 4. At the very least, this won’t be a mobile game.

What do you hope to see from Diablo 4 and do you think Blizzard will announce the game this year? Let us know in the comment section below.
