Blizzard has a great job since BlizzCon 2019 to keep fans up to date with the Diablo 4 development with system design updates based on community feedback. The developer has talked about the endgame, keyed dungeons, itemization and more, but we are still very much in the dark about Diablo 4 and how the shared world will work.

In an interview published on EDGE magazine (January 2020, issue 340), as reported by WCCFTech, Blizzard co-founder Allen Adham touched on Diablo 4 PvP and its shared world. First up, Mr Adham explains that they are prototyping interesting new approaches to player versus player in Diablo 4.

It’s something that’s been a long time coming – you’ll have to go back to Diablo II to find it. We’re in the middle of prototyping some really interesting approaches to player versus player – and we’re just about to lock them in.[/perfectpullquote]
On the topic of Diablo 4 shared world experience, Mr Adham explained that tech now allows them to do a seamless open world and it sounds quite interesting:
[perfectpullquote align=”full” bordertop=”false” cite=”” link=”” color=”#FF33DD” class=”” size=”20″]The implications of this big, social, connected open world… that’s something you’re going to understand more as you play. The tech that allows us to run a massive open seamless world, and what that allows us to achieve, is an order of magnitude greater than anything we’ve ever done in Diablo before.[/perfectpullquote]
Lastly, Mr Adham assures fans yet again that Blizzard is going to stay true to all of the previous instalments while finding ways to push the franchise forward.
