Diablo 4 Season 2 Launch

Diablo 4 Season 2 Gets Rough Launch But Warm Reception

Blizzard Entertainment has officially launched season 2 of Diablo 4 called Season of Blood. The update rolled out yesterday for most players but Blizzard hit a few roadblocks, initially delaying the season’s launch by a few hours to fix a few technical hiccups. Now that it’s live, players have been reporting their feedback on the season and for the most part, it’s being met with a much warmer reception than the misfire of season 1.

Blizzard previously detailed all the changes and tweaks being made in the vampire-themed season 2 of Diablo 4 so we won’t go over all of them (read more about it here). However, the biggest takeaway for players so far has been the adjustments to XP, enemy density and higher drop rates for great loot.

Over on the Diablo 4 subreddit, most new posts are celebrating season 2’s launch. Players feel like the latest major update fixes a lot of the issues brought up in the past while delivering worthwhile content to keep veterans playing. However, most have also noted that the game still contains plenty of bugs, some old and some new brought about as a result of the season 2 update, that needs some ironing out.

“Besides the bugs (which I’m sure are gonna be fixed soon) season 2 has done nothing but made me wanna play even more. I’m really hopeful for the future of Diablo 4,” said one Reddit user. Another replied, “10/10 patch. Everything about season 2 feels great. I wasn’t expecting it to be this good.”

Another Reddit user added that thanks to all the vampire content available in the new season, it will be hard for them to go back to nightmare dungeons, which are a nice change of pace from the usual overworld stuff and a great challenge for dedicated players:

“My only problem with the season is that I don’t want to touch nightmare dungeons. The open world vampire stuff feels so amazing, tons of enemies, tons of rewards, the blood and keys carry over so you can just farm them forever, plus you need the blood to level the vampire skills.”

Diablo 4 is available for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
