Diablo Immortal Looks Pretty Good in New Gameplay Trailer
"Diablo Immortal looks like the mobile RPG we have been waiting for."

There’s no hiding from the fact that Diablo Immortal debuted to some rather nasty backlash. After its announcement back at BlizzCon 2018, hardcore fans were unhappy about the series making its way to mobile instead of a fully-fledged sequel on PC and console. However, two years have passed and people have moved on (we hope). We know Diablo IV is shaping up and looks awesome, and mobile gaming is now bigger than ever. So how does Diablo Immortal look? According to a new trailer released at ChinaJoy 2020, pretty damn good.

The new footage was uploaded to the Chinese Diablo Immortal website comes straight from ChinaJoy 2020. The trailer finally confirms that the Barbarian, Crusader, Demon Hunter, Monk, Necromancer, and Wizard classes are returning. Previous gameplay gave us the impression that the mobile prequel would exclude specific classes from the game. That is no longer the case.

In addition to the trailer, the updated website shared some new information in regards to one of the Diablo Immortal antagonists. According to the site, the game revolves around Skagen and a number of newly born wizards and dark cultists.

This demon is called Skagen, the Fearer-he was once Diablo’s most powerful adjutant, and is now gathering a new army of demons. Skagen wants to collect the shards of the contaminated World Stone and use them to resurrect Diablo and rekindle the eternal battle between angels and demons.

Taking advantage of the destruction of the World Stone, it is not only Skagen who is making waves. There are a large number of newly born wizards, and dark cultists wander around, spreading corruption in the places they pass.

We don’t know when Diablo Immortal will land on our mobile devices. However, the game is shaping up to be a pretty decent mobile experience. Blizzard will no doubt share more information later this year during the BlizzCon digital replacement.
