Dino Crisis producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi has confirmed his involvement in Capcom’s recently announced not-Dino Crisis game Exoprimal. However, Kobayashi didn’t disclose what role he’s taking in the game’s development, but we assume it might be a leading role in some capacity.

Capcom took to PlayStation’s recent State of Play to announce a new dinosaur action game called Exoprimal. We got dino’s and there’s certainly a crisis happening, but Dino Crisis, it is sadly not. The game appears to lift some inspiration from BioWare’s Anthem as well, merging high-powered exosuits with dinosaur-slaying.

Kobayashi previously worked on the Dino Crisis series as a planner on the first game and a producer on its sequels. He will also be involved in the development of Exoprimal, presumably in a producer role as well.

Despite fans pleading Capcom to resurrect the long-dormant Dino Crisis survival horror games, it seems like they have other plans for their prehistoric monstrosities. Exoprimal will largely be action-focused with an emphasis on the mechanized combat armor simply called Exosuits.

The game’s official description reads:

“It’s 2040 and the planet is in crisis. Dinosaurs are appearing from thin air and laying waste to cities across the globe. Threatened by history’s deadliest creatures, the world turns to the powerful Aibius Corporation and its revolutionary technology for help. The company’s next-generation AI, Leviathan, can forecast where dinosaur outbreaks will occur and deploy Exofighters to the area. Armed with state-of-the-art mechanized combat armor known as Exosuits, these warriors represent humanity’s last hope.”

Exoprimal is expected to launch sometime in 2023 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Capcom are also reportedly working on a Resident Evil 4 remake alongside the recently announced Street Fighter 6 and the mysterious game Pragmata.
