Disney Dreamlight Valley

Disney Dreamlight Valley Expansion and Apple Arcade Version Detailed

In the game’s first-ever showcase event, Gameloft shared details on the upcoming Disney Dreamlight Valley content and what fans can look forward to in the months ahead. If you missed it, Disney Dreamlight Valley decided to drop the free-to-play package which has upset some of its fanbase. Fans who spent money on the early access packs will have to spend even more money in the months ahead to unlock the game’s first expansion and keep up with the various in-game purchases.

Gameloft announced that Disney Dreamlight Valley will officially leave early access on 5 December. From that point, the game will no longer be free-to-play, you won’t be able to purchase the founder’s packs either and you’ll have to buy it straight up.

On 5 December, Disney Dreamlight Valley will get its eight major content drop which includes a multiplayer mode where four friends can visit each other’s Valleys. The content will also add Jack Skellington to the game. He is the Pumpkin King from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas, just in time for the festive season.

The game’s first expansion – A Rift in Time comes in three Acts. The first Act, Welcome to Eternity Isle will arrive on 5 December. It takes place in a new location called Eternity Isle and features three unique biomes. There’s the Ancient’s Landing, the Glittering Dunes and the Wild Tangle. There’s also an overarching story that takes place across all three biomes.

The first Act revolves around Gaston, Rupenzel and Eve. The second Act of the expansion, The Spark of Imagination, will then launch in early 2024. Then in mid-2024 Treasures of Time, the third Act will arrive and focus on Jafar and time travel.

Of course, you’ll need to purchase all of the expansion separately when it arrives or grab the expansion pass in December. The good news is that if you have purchased Disney Dreamlight Valley already, you don’t need to buy the base game again. However, if you’re new to the series, you’ll have to lay down $39,99 for the base game or $69,99 for the game and the expansion pass.

In between all the A Rift in Time expansion acts, Gameloft will also release a number of free content updates for players. You’ll get to meet Mike Wazowski and Sulley from Monsters Inc. Tiana from The Princess and the Frog is also coming to the game.

Last, but definitely not least, there’s a Special Apple Arcade version of Disney Dreamlight Valley coming to iOS and Mac devices. It has been optimised for touch screens and will launch on 5 December. This version includes the base game and the A Rift in Time expansion. It will also receive all the game updates and content drops up to this point. However, there will be no seasonal Star Paths or The Premium Shop added to the game. This is due to Apple’s Terms of Service which prevents in-game purchases on Apple Arcade titles.
