Don’t Expect Fallout 3 Remastered Anytime Soon Says Leaker

With fans celebrating the leaks for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered before an official announcement, fans of another popular Bethesda IP are left wondering if the same treatment would be given to the Fallout franchise. A reputable leaker has now claimed that we shouldn’t expect Fallout 3 Remastered anytime soon.

Rumours about Fallout 3 Remastered aren’t unwarranted. The remaster was actually listed in leaked Bethesda documents during a prior court case with Microsoft and the FTC. The leaked documents also mentioned the Oblivion remaster, a new DOOM game and a licensed IP game (which we now know to be Indiana Jones and The Great Circle) – all of which have been proven accurate so far.

When pressed about the leaked Fallout 3 remaster on X, leaker NateTheHate, who has a solid track record, stated, “it will be a while before we see it.” The leaker didn’t elaborate on that point, leaving many to speculate that it could still be a few years until we get a remaster of Fallout 3.

Outside of the video game world, Fallout is making a name for itself on television. Thanks to the acclaimed live-action TV series from Amazon, which is canonically set in the timeline of the games, the Fallout IP enjoyed a surge in popularity – a trend which will likely continue with the upcoming second season that will take fans to the familiar location of New Vegas.

The description for the Fallout TV show reads:

“Years after a nuclear apocalypse devastates America, a violent raid by bandits on an underground fallout shelter forces one of its residents to set out into a barren wasteland filled with radiation, mutated monsters, and a lawless society of those who remained on the surface.”

If you’re keen on playing Fallout 3 today, you can do so via Xbox Game Pass on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.
