When Marco had some hands-on time with DOOM Eternal at E3 in June this year, the game delivered that bloody magic that id Software is known for and from all the gameplay we’ve seen, the game looks quite polished already. Developer id Software and Bethesda has announced that game is delayed and will not make its 22 November 2019 launch date to “deliver a game that exceeds your greatest expectations across the board” and revealed a new DOOM Eternal release date.

This is definitely not a bad thing but for fans of the iconic FPS franchise, the game being delayed could throw a chainsaw in their holiday plans. Bethesda and id Software revealed the new DOOM Eternal release date of 20 March 2020. With the new release date also comes some changes to the game’s launch plans.
First up, the game won’t be releasing on the Nintendo Switch at the same time as the other platforms (PC, PS4 and Xbox One) and the developer will share more information on the Switch release date later on. Late in July, we reported that DOOM 64 could be making its way to other platforms after being a Nintendo 64 exclusive for 20 years. Bethesda and id Software has revealed that DOOM 64 will release on all platforms on 20 March 2020 and will be a pre-order bonus for DOOM Eternal. Lastly, the game won’t launch with Invasion mode anymore as the mode will be released after launch in a free update.
Bethesda and id Software explains:

We know many fans will be disappointed by this delay, but we are confident that DOOM Eternal will deliver a gaming experience that is worth the wait.[/perfectpullquote]
