On 29 June PS5 and Xbox Series X/S owners are getting a DOOM Eternal enhancement patch that is set to increase the game’s resolution, frame rate and add ray tracing to the game. There has never been a better time to play DOOM Eternal as firstly, the game is now available on Xbox Game Pass for free, and secondly, there are two awesome expansion packs available with dedicated story modes and new levels to explore.
If you’re wondering what the DOOM Eternal enhancement update is doing then look no further. Bethesda released a full breakdown of the additional graphics modes headed to the game. For starters, Xbox Series X and PS5 owners are able to enjoy a high-performance ray-tracing mode at 60FPS. In addition, all console owners (not PS4 and Xbox One of course) can benefit from a 120FPS mode.

Bethesda detailed the various graphical modes in a blog post. The developer shared what resolution DOOM Eternal will run at across the consoles including PS5, Xbox Series X/S and even PC.
This free update optimizes DOOM Eternal for next-gen machines, offering improved visuals, increased performance and support for ray-tracing, or 4K resolution at 60 frames per second, or an optional 120 FPS mode. The next-gen update is also coming to PC, granting players ray-tracing on compatible machines, and more.
Xbox Series X
