After having a stellar showing at Comic Con Africa last year, the Doritos Crunch Cup will officially return to Comic Con Cape Town 2023. With over R10,000 up for grabs every day, players can compete in games like Fortnite, Tekken 7, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and FIFA 23 across all four days of the event. Head over to the Doritos Crunch Zone to experience 1v1 tournaments and stand a chance to win the big cash prizes.
Entry into all tournaments is free and open to all skill levels. Additionally, all tournaments will be 1v1, played on Xbox consoles and feature single elimination rounds. If you don’t want to compete in the heated tournaments, the Doritos Crunch Zone will also have a casual gaming zone open from 09:00 each day.

Daily title-specific pro showdowns will take place every day between 14:00 and 15:00 where players have the opportunity to “beat the pro” and win R1000 as well as bragging rights. As for the pros you’ll be going up against, they include Fortnite‘s Travis Vercueil, Tekken‘s Callym Beukes, FIFA‘s Masoom Fakie and an unannounced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 pro.
The daily breakdown for the Doritos Crunch Cup is as follows:
⦁ Thursday, 27 April 2023 – Fortnite
⦁ Friday, 28 April 2023 – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
⦁ Saturday, 29 April 2023 – Tekken 7
⦁ Sunday, 30 April 2023 – FIFA 23
Registration for each tournament will take place on the Con floor at the Doritos Crunch Zone (located on Level 2) at Comic Con Cape Town from 09:00 – 11:00 each day and is on a first come first serve basis – so arrive early to avoid disappointment. The first game for each tournament will kick off at 11:30 sharp. Spectators and fans can expect some heated match-ups during these showdowns.
For younger gamers between the ages of 13 – 17 that wish to compete, a parent or guardian will need to be present at the time of registration and check-in to sign a consent form.
Comic Con Cape Town will take place from 27 to 30 April 2023 at CTICC 2. Doors open from 09:00 to 18:00 daily. Make sure you secure your tickets on Howler.
