It was a fantastic weekend for Dota 2 fans as the group stage of the Chongqing Major did not disappoint in the slightest. We saw a tonne of matches take place between some of the world’s best teams, incredible plays and great production value for the entire tournament so far. Now, we head into the Chongqing Major playoffs with some world-class teams fighting it out for their share of the $1 million prize pool and 15,000 DPC points.

The group stages showcased a few things and for many fans, the biggest highlight has to be Liquid crushing it even without their superstar Amer “Miracle-” Barkawi. Liquid ended on the top of group C after defeating Vici Gaming 2-0 with their stand in Chu “shadow” Zeyu.
In group A, Virtus.Pro beat down Bucharest Minor winners EHOME and then went on to defeat TnC without any major issues. VP, therefore, claimed the top spot in the group. Group B saw The International 2018 finalists and my personal favourites to win the whole thing, PSG.LGD take down Team Secret for the top spot. Finally, group C Fnatic in top spot after some very convincing performances against the likes of EG and Alliance.
