The group stages saw the fan-favourite teams like EG, Secret, Virtus.Pro and PSG.LGD top their groups, while surprising, Team Liquid ended third in their group, under Keen Gaming who has been looking fantastic with legends like OldChicken and eLeVeN proving they still have what it takes.
The first upset occurred in the lower bracket, where Team Liquid got eliminated in the first round by Chaos EC. EG also fell after losing to Keen Gaming in the upper bracket and then when the team walked into Virtus.Pro, their DreamLeague dreams were over. It wasn’t all doom and gloom for EG, however, as with their placement they did earn themselves enough points to solidify their invite to The International 2019.
The next round of matches kicks off today at 17:30 South African time with two Chinese juggernauts facing each other in the upper bracket semifinals. Check out the schedule for today in local time below.
- PSG.LGD versus VG – 17:30
- Keen Gaming versus Fnatic – 20:30
The loser of PSG.LGD vs VG will face Team Secret in the lower bracket this Saturday, 23 March at 11:30 while the loser of Keen Gaming and Fnatic will face off against Virtus.Pro. You can check out all the action on Twitch.tv and the channel is embedded below for your convenience.
