Last week, Valve released the Early Access version of Dota Underlords, their new standalone version of the extremely popular Dota Auto Chess mod. Now, the Dota Underlords Open Beta has been unleashed, which means you no longer need a Dota 2 Battle Pass to try the game out for free.

Now that gamers don’t have to fork out R143 for a Dota 2 Battle Pass to try Dota Underlords, everyone can join in and it is pretty good so far. You can go ahead and download the Dota Underlords Open Beta right now on Steam for PC, as well as devices on their respective stores by heading to one of the links below. Note that the iOS link is not available just yet for South Africans at the time of writing.
The the Dota Underlords Open Beta, crossplay between devices are also available, as well as a bunch of other new features. Further, Valve has revealed that more features are coming soon, including a Battle Pass, Seasonal Rotations, as well as more Underlords.
The Dota Underlods Open Beta brings with it the following new features:
- Crossplay – Play on your platform of choice and battle players across the globe in a hassle-free crossplay experience. Running late? Start a match on your PC and finish it on your mobile device (and vice versa). Your profile in Dota Underlords is shared across all devices, so no matter what you play on, you’re always making progress.
- Ranked Matchmaking – Everyone starts at the bottom, but by playing against other Underlords you’ll climb through the ranks and prove you’re worthy to rule White Spire.
- Tournament-Ready – Create your own private lobbies and matches, then invite spectators to watch you duke it out.
