Bioware has seemingly confirmed that the upcoming Dragon Age 4 (or whatever they will call it) will mainly be set in the land of Tevinter within the world of Thedas.
The information comes from the studio’s latest BioWare: Stories and Secrets from 25 Years of Game Development book. However, this is also not rocket science either. For those who played the Dragon Age: Inquisition Trespasser DLC, you would know that at the end of the story the player stabs the Tevinter Imperium location on the map also revealing the sequel’s main location.

BioWare previously confirmed the Dragon Age 4 location at the end of Inquisition but this book further confirms the setting. In the book, which celebrates the studios 25th anniversary with concept art, images and inside stories, there’s a Tevinter entry that reads:
“As BioWare entered its twenty-fifth year, the Dragon Age team was hard at work on Morrison, the code name of the long-awaited follow-up to Dragon Age: Inquisition. Tevinter Bound: A sneak peek at the follow-up to Inquisition. The game, helmed by executive producer Mark Darrah, will take players to Tevinter as the events of Inquisition and Trespasser threaten to forever change Thedas.”
Keep in mind that Mark Darrah departed BioWare at the end of 2020 along with Mass Effect director and BioWare general manager Casey Hudson. However, the book was in development before these events took place.
The book also details art which is believed to showcase Antiva City, the capital city in the eastern border of Tevinter. Another image is reportedly from Nevarra on Tevinter’s southern border. There’s also mention of two guilds. The Lords of the Fortune treasure hunter guild based in Rivain in the northeast of Tevinter. The other is one in the dwarven tunnels known as the Deep Roads.
Finally picked up the BioWare book and hey is this the first *official* confirmation Dragon Age 4 is set in Tevinter? (I know we all sort of guessed this already) pic.twitter.com/229xriPbof

So when are we going to play Dragon Age 4? Don’t get your hopes up as the game might not see the light of day until after April 2022 according to EA’s previous earnings call. At least we can dream about all the things we will get up to in Tevinter while we wait.
