Dragon Age 4

Dragon Age 4 Won’t Release Before March 2022 According to EA

If you were hoping to play a new Dragon Age 4 game soon, we have some bad news. EA has no plans to release the upcoming fourth instalment in the series before March 2022 as the studio plans on perfecting the game and taking as much time as they need to develop a sequel worthy of Dragon Age: Inquisition.

According to Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmed who reported on the news on Twitter, this launch window was revealed during EA’s fiscal results for Q2 2020. Of course, this release window could change if development times speed up and EA focuses more resources at BioWare on the title.

Daniel also revealed that EA Games plans on releasing a new Star Wars game at the end of 2022. There are no details on what Star Wars game this could be. EA Games and BioWare reportedly rebooted Dragon Age 4 back in 2017 which according to reports was influenced by a project Bioware was working on back in 2015.

Dragon Age 4 was then teased at 2018 The Game Awards in a short teaser trailer that ended with the hashtag #TheDreadWolfRises. Very little is known about the game’s plot other than it focusing on the Dread Wolf.

For those of you not familiar with the Dread Wolf, it is the Elven God of betrayal. According to Elven lore, the Dread Wolf is called upon for aid and advice but other races believe that the god is evil. If the mural on the floor in the trailer is anything to go by, then the Dread Wolf could be the centre point for the upcoming game as a dark creature can be seen in the picture.

Dragon Age 4 will no doubt be a next-gen game with its release window falling well into the PS5 and Xbox Scarlet lifecycle.
