Dragon Age The Veilguard Gameplay Release Date BioWare

Dragon Age: The Veilguard PC System Requirements, Console Graphics Modes and Launch Times

BioWare has detailed what you’ll need to run the upcoming Dragon Age: The Veilguard when it launches later this month. The studio has also revealed different graphics modes for console owners and when the game will be available to download and launch across all platforms.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard PC Requirements and Features

First off we have the PC system requirements. Dragon Age: The Veilguard doesn’t require a monster PC as a minimum. However, if you want to max out the game’s settings and enjoy raytracing, you’ll need to pack some serious power. The base requirement for 1080p 30FPS on a PC is a GTX 970/AMD Radeon R9 290X. You’ll need at least 4GM of VRAM. This is to run the game on the lowest graphics settings.

To max the game out at 4K 60FPS without raytracing, you’ll need an RTX 4080 or AMD RX 7900 XTX with 12GB of VRAM. In terms of CPUs, it requires an Intel Core i9-12900K or AMD Ryzen 9 7950X. The same specs can then be used to play Dragon Age: The Veilguard at 30FPS if you max out raytracing.

Dragon Age The Veilguard Full Nudity BioWare

By the look of things, you’ll be able to easily use raytracing on 4K with the above hardware and still sit around 40FPS as long as your raytracing settings aren’t on Ultra. BioWare says Dragon Age: The Veilguard comes with two graphics modes on console. There’s a fidelity mode and a performance mode. They target 30FPS and 60FPS respectively. The game is also PS5 Pro enhanced with Raytraced Ambient Occlusion available on the 60FPS mode – it is locked to the 30FPS mode on the base PS5 console. The PS5 Pro will also offer “upgraded image quality” but specific details have not been shared.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard Pre-Load and Launch Times

Dragon Age: The Veilguard launches on 31 October. Xbox owners can already pre-load the game. PS5 owners can pre-load the game starting on 29 October. There’s no pre-load for PC given the game’s lack of DRM.

The game will then be unlocked at different times in different regions. In South Africa, you’ll be able to launch the game at 17:00 CAT on PS5 and Xbox Series X. On PC, the launch time is 18:00 CAT. Find other regions here.
