Dragon Ball Daima, the latest anime project set within the Dragon Ball universe, is set to end its anime run later this month. In total, this means that the anime will have run for 20 episodes, making it considerably shorter than most mainline Dragon Ball shows that air for over 100 episodes.
Dragon Ball Daima originally aired back in October and told a side story of Goku, Vegeta and friends becoming unusually younger. Goku travels to the Demon Realm to figure out the cause of the mess and revert their bodies back to their original older counterparts. Meanwhile, Earth’s guardian Dende has been transformed into a baby. The series premiered on 11 October and is currently ongoing, recently airing its 17th episode. By the the time the anime ends on 28 February, it will conclude with 20 episodes.
Toei Animation began streaming a new trailer for the show called “Climax” which teases the upcoming ending. So far, the reception has been mostly positive with many praising Daima‘s animation, comedy and fan service transformations. We’ll have to wait until the end of the month to find out how the show wraps up, or if there’s more story to tell for a follow-up season. Meanwhile, there’s no word on Toei Animation adapting the latest chapters and arcs of the Dragon Ball Super anime, which is making steady progress in the manga.
In related news, Bandai Namco Entertainment recently revealed that Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, the fighting game that largely adapts all of the Dragon Ball anime shows, sold 5 million copies since its launch last year. This makes it the highest-selling Dragon Ball game ever made on console and one of the most successful anime-based game releases from Bandai Namco in recent memory, topping Dragon Ball FighterZ and Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot.
The finale for Dragon Ball Daima airs on 28 February. Check out the latest trailer below:
