Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 4 September Release Bandai Namco

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 Aiming for September Release – Report

Bandai Namco recently announced the next chapter in the Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi fighting game franchise, largely believed to be Budokai Tenkaichi 4. However, we only received a teaser trailer confirming that the game is currently in development. A new rumour has now surfaced suggesting that the publisher is targeting a September release window.

Before we proceed, this rumour originates from a source we view as very unreliable so we recommend taking everything here with a mountain of salt. According to a new Reddit thread created by an alleged GameStop employee, a Bandai Namco employee visited their store and claimed to work at the company. The Bandai Namco employee wore a branded jacket and seemingly asked around for gachapon machines.

However, the Gamestop and Bandai Namco employees got to talking about Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4, which was officially announced last week. The Bandai Namco employee reportedly stated that while he couldn’t give exact details on the game itself, the publisher apparently wants to target a September release for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It also won’t be coming to Xbox One similar to another recently published Bandai Namco title, One Piece Odyssey.

There’s unfortunately no way to corrobrate if any of this information is accurate. It’s possible that this exchange did happen but the person in question wasn’t actually a Bandai Namco employee or the entire thing could’ve been fabricated. It’s not the first time we’ve heard of the legendary “my uncle works at Nintendo” ruse.

If this information does, by chance, turn out to be true then we can expect to play Budokai Tenkaichi 4 in September. With September only six months away and Bandai Namco stating that the game was in “early development”, it’s hard to tell if that release window will possibly be met. On the other hand, it’s not out of the ordinary for Bandai Namco to announce a game a mere few months out from launch either. Dragon Ball FighterZ was also revealed only seven months before it released.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 is currently in development.
