It seems Capcom plans to launch a demo for Dragon’s Dogma 2 before the game launches next month. A demo file was spotted on Steam thanks to SteamDB which has been labelled as “Free on Demand”.
Usually, these “Free on Demand” files are linked to game demos for specific titles. So we shouldn’t rule out a Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo just yet.
Capcom is also known for releasing demos of its games. Almost every new Capcom game in recent years has had its own demo. Both Resident Evil 7 and 8 had demos as well as Resident Evil 4 Remake. The company also hosted free-to-play beta tests for its less-than-popular shooter Exoprimal.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set to launch on 22 March for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. So we can likely expect the demo to drop a few weeks before the game’s launch. There’s a high chance the demo will be available on all available platforms and not just on Steam.
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is an upcoming single-player fantasy RPG where players control Pawns as they fight monsters and do their duty to protect the kingdom. You play as the Arisen whose heart has been stolen by a dragon.
The game’s deep class system is a standout for the series. Players can take on specific fighting roles and even adapt to hybrid versions. For example, you can choose to be damage damage-dealing mage or a mage archer using magical darts to attack enemies.
Hopefully, the Dragon’s Dogma 2 demo will also shed some light on the console situation. Players are criticizing the game after its announced 30FPS mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. Many believe there should be an option to choose 60FPS as most titles offer different graphics modes.
