As expected, developer Techland has released the Dying Light 2 gameplay video that was shown off at E3 from the hands-off gameplay demo that some attendees got to see behind-closed-doors. You can watch it embedded at the bottom of this article. I won’t blame you for just scrolling right down and watching it, as Techland’s ambitious zombie game is something that I am sure many gamers have been looking forward to.

Dying Light 2 is an open-world action RPG (filled with zombies and parkour) where the player’s choices can change the world around them, as well as the story. The Dying Light 2 gameplay video shows off one of those crucial missions but focuses more on the human factions in the game. The narrator explains that the city is on the brink of destruction as “the drinking water is about to end.”
The only person who can solve the drinking water problem is The Colonel, who leads a group called the Renegades from the city’s pumping station. The protagonist, Aiden Caldwell, is called to a meeting between the Renegades group and officers from other factions in the city. Obviously, thing’s don’t go exactly as planned and you can see some brutal melee combat and more take place.
The Dying Light 2 gameplay video is about one main mission and there’s quite a bit of talking and no nighttime gameplay. However, it gives us an idea of how some of the game’s missions will go down and it is very interesting if you ask me. From the video, we also learn that weapon modding will be back. Further, the city is divided into seven districts. Each of these districts will have its own look and feel, and you will be able to unlock new parkour abilities in each.
Dying Light 2 is expected to release in early 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
