E3 will return next year for a so-called bigger and better event with a larger focus on digital announcements while also filling up the Los Angeles Convention Center with media and gamers for the first time since 2019. The organizers announced that the event will kick off on 11 June next year and run up until 16 June. However, the early days of the event will play host to online announcements and streams as a build-up to the physical show.
The actual expo only starts on 13 June but E3 is planning on partnering with digital stream events from 11 June to host announcements and news leading up to the show’s opening day on 13 June.
E3 2023 will also divide the show days up into two categories. From 13 – 14 June, the event will only be open to media, businesses, industry personnel and network-related people. This will give visitors an opportunity to work and help uplift the industry with meetings, media hands-on events and demos.
The Hype starts now. 👀#E32023 will take place in person from June 13-16 in the Los Angeles Convention Center with separated business and consumer days and areas.

Then on 15 and 16 June, the show will launch into its E3 Gamer Days. These two days will invite consumers to the show to try out games, connect with developers, content creators and more. The E3 Gamer Days will take part in a separate area in the LACC and you’ll have to purchase tickets to get into the venue.
Of course, it is hard to ignore the elephant in the room. Is E3 still relevant after years of digital events brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic? The expo has since partnered with ReedPop, the organizers and license holders of Comic Con. ReedPop VP of gaming Kyle Marsden-Kish says that E3 2023 aims to reunite the gaming industry with a new event:
E3 is one of the global gaming industry’s few opportunities to come together, unite as one loud voice, and show the world what it is creating. Our vision is to reunite the industry by re-establishing the traditional E3 week, bring back that spark, and restore E3’s role as a truly magical global showcase event for game creators and consumers.”
E3 2023 will open up for media registration in December this year. The event will also announce the first batch of confirmed exhibitors. As we get closer to the event, more information such as schedules and news will be announced.
